Capturing the Rhythm:
A Vintage Record Store Photoshoot with the MBT-419SENIOR TEAM
Hello everyone!
I am thrilled to share the unforgettable experience I recently had with the incredible teens of the MBT-419SENIOR TEAM. As part of our journey to help these talented young individuals prepare for their upcoming modeling shoot in Las Vegas, we embarked on a themed photoshoot that was nothing short of magical.
Our setting was the iconic Welcome Back Records in Fort Wayne, Indiana – a haven for music lovers and a perfect backdrop for our vintage-inspired photoshoot. The theme was all about celebrating the music that has shaped our lives. Each teen chose to dress as a musician they loved or a band they idolized, bringing their own unique flair and personality to the shoot.
From the moment we stepped into Welcome Back Records, the excitement was palpable. The store, with its walls lined with vinyl records and posters of legendary artists, transported us all to a different era. It was like stepping back in time, surrounded by the music that has inspired generations.
Our teens embraced the theme wholeheartedly. They arrived dressed in outfits that paid homage to their favorite musicians, complete with accessories that added an authentic touch to their looks. From classic rock icons to contemporary pop stars, the diversity of their choices showcased their eclectic tastes and deep appreciation for music.
Some of the standout portrayals included:
Prince: One teen embodied the iconic style and enigmatic presence of Prince, complete with a purple outfit and plenty of attitude.
Farrah Fawcett: Channeling the glamour of the 70s, another teen brought Farrah Fawcett’s classic look to life with feathered hair and vintage flair.
The Beatles: A teen paid tribute to the Fab Four.
Guns N & Roses: Embracing the rock 'n' roll spirit, a teen dressed as Axl Rose, complete with T-shirt, ripped jeans and jean jacket.
AC/DC: The electrifying energy of AC/DC was brought to the shoot with a teen dressed in a schoolboy outfit, reminiscent of Angus Young.
Stevie Nicks: Another teen donned flowing fabrics and layers to capture the mystical, bohemian style of Stevie Nicks.
MTV Music: Representing the vibrant and eclectic era of MTV, a teen showcased the bold, colorful fashion that defined the early days of the music channel.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing how each teen channeled the spirit of their chosen musician. Whether it was the rebellious energy of a rock star, the soulful vibe of a jazz legend, or the bold style of a pop icon, they brought these characters to life with confidence and enthusiasm. It was evident that they had poured their hearts into their preparations, and their passion shone through in every shot.
Photographing these talented teens in such a vibrant setting was a photographer's dream. The vintage record store provided endless opportunities for creative compositions and unique backdrops. We captured moments of them flipping through vinyl records, posing with classic album covers. Each shot told a story, blending the timeless charm of the record store with the dynamic energy of the teens.
The experience was not just about taking photos; it was about creating memories and celebrating the journey these teens are on. Their dedication to their craft and their willingness to step out of their comfort zones inspired me and reminded me of the joy of artistic expression.
As we wrapped up the shoot, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of young individuals. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and passion for both modeling and music made this themed photoshoot a standout moment in our preparation for Las Vegas.
